‘Above and Beyond’: Lakeville policeman delivers Amazon packages found abandoned on road – Boston News, Weather, Sports

LAKEVILLE, MASS. (WHDH) – A Lakeville police officer went above and beyond the call of duty this week to deliver a pile of abandoned Amazon packages.

A doorbell camera captured Officer Rob Schiffer dropping off one of around 10 packages during his shift on Wednesday.

Schiffer said he just wanted to make sure everyone in town got their packages before Christmas.

“I thought most of them were Christmas presents, so I didn’t want to risk families not getting their Christmas presents for their kids or family members or something like that,” a- he declared.

Lisa Aten’s package was among them and she said she was very grateful to him.

“He could have pointed it out, he could be sitting in a pile at the police station, yes that was great,” she said. “Above and beyond.”

The Lakeville Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the abandoned packages, but do not believe the incident is suspicious at this time.

All abandoned packages were delivered safely to their intended recipients.
