The carjacker can be seen on a doorbell camera moving away into the delivery vehicle. There were about 110 packages inside, police.

“It seems that in this situation this driver could not have prevented anything,” said Rudy Harper, 2nd Deputy Chief, DPD.

“She was in the truck when he told her to get out, which I’m sure was terrifying,” a neighbor said. “Even 30 minutes later, when I went outside to see what was going on, she was still quite shaken up.”

An unarmed suspect apparently snuck up on the driver to ask for his keys.

“She threw away her keys and her phone not to attest and he immediately grabbed them and came over to the driver’s side, got in and left,” the witness said. “But you can see whichever car he got into, a blue SUV sped past the Amazon van.”

a lot of other people’s property.

“One hundred and ten packages were in that truck,” Harper said. “It’s after the holidays, so maybe it was gifts that families were looking forward to, so it’s an unfortunate situation.”

It was also an unfortunate moment.

“In Sherwood Forest we have 24/7 security patrols and they happen to target the van when no one was driving,” the neighbor said.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the carjacking.

“These freebies packages are replaceable,” Harper said. “A life is not.”

Police found the abandoned Amazon van within a mile and a half. The suspects are still at large – a package has been left inside.
