Contest May Be Your Ticket To A $ 1.9 Million Dream Home In Austin

As you are no doubt aware, the Austin housing market is hyper-competitive, with sellers presenting multiple offers and homes selling for tens of thousands of dollars above the list price.

Well, if you are looking for a home, you can avoid all the madness by entering a contest to win a $ 1.9 million “dream” home in the upscale Travis Heights neighborhood of Austin.

The Omaze fundraising platform offers a 3,235 square foot house built by Urban ATX. The property includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms, hardwood floors, a chef’s kitchen, a den, a floating staircase, an upstairs terrace, a covered terrace next to the first floor kitchen and space for a home gym or home office.

And just in case you’re not really on the hunt for a new home (or don’t want to pay a big property tax bill), the winner can choose a cash prize or the home.

The product of the draws will support Folds of Honor, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based nonprofit that provides aid and scholarships to families of injured and fallen service members.

“Austin is one of America’s fastest growing cities and was the perfect location for our next dream home. This house is truly spectacular and will make a lucky winner’s dreams come true while supporting our longtime friends at Folds of Honor, ”said Matt Pohlson, co-founder and CEO of Omaze, in a press release. “We anticipate that customers will find this to be one of our most popular offerings to date, and we are excited to be able to support the veteran community in doing so. “

The raffle raises funds for the Charities Aid Foundation America, which will receive 100 percent of donations from those who try to win home. The Charities Aid Foundation America, based in Alexandria, Virginia, will then send the donations, less fees and other costs, to Folds of Honor. The organization has awarded more than 500 scholarships in the Austin area.

“Our long-standing collaboration with Omaze has already raised $ 1.6 million and provided scholarships to 320 widows and children of brave men and women across the United States,” said Ben. Leslie, Executive Vice President of Folds of Honor. “We believe in honoring the sacrifices of military veterans by supporting their families and know that this gift from home from Austin will have an incredible impact for so many members of the veteran community. “

Contest ends October 10.
