FRANKLIN, NC (AP / WSPA) – A North Carolina FedEx delivery driver has been charged with a series of break-ins over several weeks after being captured by a video surveillance camera inside a home.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office said there was a hiatus in the case when a landlord called to report that his surveillance video showed a man in shorts who was at his house for a short time before run away when he spotted the camera.
Gregory Thomas Bufkin has been arrested on numerous counts, including break and enter.
“While this case remains very active and we continue to monitor information obtained from the interviews, we can link Mr Bufkin with thefts from at least 11 break-ins in the Highland area,” the county sheriff said. by Macon, Robert Holland.
Investigators also found several jewelry and two guns, some of which were in Bufkin’s FedEx vehicle.
“Although we have resolved several thefts in our area, some recovered items are from thefts that were not discovered by the owners and therefore went unreported,” Holland added.
FedEx said it was “appalled” and added that Bufkin had been fired.
Bufkin is being held at the Macon County Detention Center on $ 180,000 bond.
