After six weeks as #1 streaming content on Amazon Prime Video, the hit TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power officially fell from the top spot. Tolkien’s adaptation was dethroned by the latest unreleased show to arrive on the streamerthe new series The ringroad. Based on the novel by William Gibson and starring Chloë Grace Moretz only two episodes are available to watch (more are coming weekly) for the series but that didn’t stop the new show from jumping to the top spot and beating The Rings of Power.
Since its creation power rings was rated dynamite for Amazon Prime Video, which they were hoping for after the advertised price the series cost the streamer. It was reported after only one day of availability, while two episodes, that the show had already broken several records on Prime Video. Even Nielsen, the third-party ratings tracker, showed the success of the serieseven beating HBO Dragon House until this week.
The ringroad centered on Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a woman trying to hold together the pieces of his broken family in a forgotten corner of the America of tomorrow. Flynne is smart, ambitious and doomed. She has no future; until the future calls. The ringroad is master storyteller William Gibson’s dazzling and mind-blowing insight into the fate of humanity and what lies beyond.
