Axis My India, a consumer data intelligence firm, has announced the formation of an advisory board, with advertising industry experts Shashi Sinha, CEO of IPG Mediabrands and Vikram Sakhuja, CEO of Madison Group Media joining the board. Sakhuja will serve as chairman of the board.
The main responsibility of the board will be to keep track of the big picture of the organization, anticipate challenges in the aspirational path and suggest mitigation tools to avoid the same. Board members should also bring diversity of thought and action, and help broaden the company’s horizons to engage with constituencies and stakeholders outside of its conventional domain.
A key goal of the company’s long-term vision is to help develop an infrastructure that caters to India’s first-generation digital natives, as well as deconstructing the motivations and perceptions that define the functioning of the most populous and complex democracy in the world.
Taking over as Chairman of the Advisory Board, Sakhuja remarked, “Axis My India has established itself over the years as the most accurate psephologist in India. Underlying this is one of the most innovative organizations I have encountered, in terms of leadership, team and process. As they now roll out more exciting products, they have the potential to not only provide authoritative information on Bharat and India, but also create a platform for meaningful dialogue with consumers that can be invaluable to marketers and decision makers. It is a privilege for me to be able to participate in this trip as an external advisor.
Giving insight into why the council was formed, Sinha said, “There is tremendous innovation and buzzing activity coming out of the non-metros of India. India’s small towns and villages will propel its rise to economic power in the 21st century. I am privileged to be able to engage with Axis My India on its broader vision of empowering these communities and to be a part of this underpinning nation building exercise.
