Welcome to the Slate Weekly News Quiz. It’s Friday, which means it’s time to test your knowledge of the news for the week. Your host, Ray Hamel, has concocted questions on hot topics ranging from politics to business, culture to sport and science.
The questions are multiple choice and time is running out: you have 50 seconds to answer, and as the seconds go by, the point value of the question drops from 50 to zero, so you’ll want to click your reply as quickly as possible. There is no penalty for an incorrect answer, so feel free to guess.
At the end of the quiz, you will be able to compare your score with that of the average candidate, as well as with the score of a Slatester who agreed to take the quiz. This week’s contestant is Cheyna Roth, producer of The Waves. The Waves, Slate’s long-running gender and feminism show, recently returned from a hiatus and is now in your feeds every Thursday with in-depth information on topics as unpredictable and surprising as the news itself. Listen and subscribe on Apple podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Can you pass the quiz and beat Roth? Good luck!
